"The Promise Keeper"
These days of Autumn, as the days are beginning to shorten, nightfall comes earlier now. Cooler weather bringing many changes, the transformation of bright jewel-like color to the leaves on the trees . Amazing, when one stops to pause.
God's glory, His handiwork in nature's display. I've noticed since last week, the hummingbirds have stopped coming, apparently it was their last visit of the season on their journey Southward. The two feeders glistening in the evening sunlight, hanging here on the back porch of my country cabin home .
In some areas here in North Eastern Kentucky's Appalachian foothills, Jack Frost has already made his apearance. Local Farmers are saying we're going to have an early Winter. Neighbors are gathering in not only their harvest but their Winter wood.
The smell of fresh hay rolled in the fields Mending fences, barbed-wire before cold weather. I saw a grey squirrel just yesterday gathering acorns, storing them for Winter
Ironweed and Goldenrod in full bloom, Queen Anne's Lace, the last of the flowers of Autumn.
Tuesday evening, on my way to a neighboring town, I saw some children playing on a swing in their back yard, with my window rolled down as I passed by, I could hear their laughter as they ran from each swing to a teeter-totter. Alongside the graveled country road, a young calf running, then kicking both hind legs up into the air, what a picture it made!
In the quiet serenity of a cool evening, a lone whippoorwill sings his mountain love song in the distance, the peaceful sound a waterfall makes as it slowly, steadily trickles down a silver stream gliding effortlessly over the jagged edges of rock made smooth from its constant flow.
I am reminded of God's love; a constant steadyness. His Love is forever and always. His Promises are everlasting. The Bible says we can be assured that His Love is constant...We never need doubt that Love, not ever----we can take Him at His Word.
He is The Promise Keeper....He is but a whisper away, calling upon His Name, burdens are lifted. Our problems may not always go away right then, neither does being His child guarantee that our lives will be trouble or trial free.Quite the contrary! I have learned throughout life, there is always some challenging adversity we wll face .....yet, we also have His promise that when we do face troubles, trials He is right there to help us through....if He brings us to it, He will bring us through it----- we can be assured that when the storms in life threaten to overwhelm us, We must remember, He has a Good plan for our lives & He is working out all things for our Good. ----Romans 8:28
